G.HO.ST is an emerging Web 2.0 company that will start to get traction as they make progress on providing a very rich and deep solution that allows you to take your desktop anywhere. This is one of the better solutions in the Web 2.0 space that I have seen for a while. It's interface is rich and the widgets for the environment are growing. I would recommend you give it a try and would love to hear your feedback. Nice innovation going on there.
Thank you so much for reviewing and recommending G.ho.st the Global Hosted Operating SysTem. Our alpha is live at http://G.ho.st including 3GB of free storage from G.ho.st. Beta version is due this summer packed with full free applications and new features which will make G.ho.st a real Virtual Computer for anyone who want to be mobile.
Please keep feedback coming at http://G.ho.st/forums

Bob,
Check out Bill Higgins (a Jazz web client developer) on web applications that don't act like the web:
http://billhiggins.us/weblog/2007/05/17/the-uncanny-valley-of-user-interface-design/
He pointed out something that I haven't been able to articulate in the past. It feels unnatural to have applications attempting to run as rich clients using DHTML/Ajax in a browser. It is ok for a specific element such as an interactive chart, but when it takes over the whole browser it it doesn't resonate. I'd rather have a click-once/java web start app that launches in its own window...
