About Me

A passionate innovator and futurist, Bob Zurek is currently CTO for EnterpriseDB which produces an enterprise-class RDBMS that is based on PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database. Previously to EnterpriseDB, Bob was the Director of Strategy for IBM's Information Server and Platform division and served as vice president of product management and advanced technologies at Ascential Software, prior to the acquisition of Ascential by IBM.

His previous experience includes serving as senior technology research analyst with Forrester Research, co-founder and president of LumaPath, vice president and CTO of Incentive Systems (now called Centive Systems), vice president of web development tools at Sybase and VP of Technology at Powersoft (acquired by Sybase), and founder and vice president of Infinity Systems, which was acquired by Powersoft.

Bob has also worked in leadership positions at General Electric and Dresser Industries earlier in his career.
